YoJimbo 3 and Yojimbo for iPad Now Available

Long before everyone was crazy about Getting Things Done, and Evernote kept track of well, everything, Bare Bones’ Yojimbo was rocking Macs with a beautifully simplistic and insanely flexible database solution. The latest version of the venerable data management application–Yojimbo 3— offers a number of excellent new features that will keep long-time users of the software’s previous iterations happy, while at the same time entice new users to give what Bare Bones has to offer a go.

In addition to Yojimbo’s already hefty feature set that allows users to build a scalable mixed-content database of lists, PDFs, HTML, images and other vital information, Bare Bones has, with the third version of the application, introduced the ability to scan documents directly into a Yojimbo collection. Better still, road warriors will be happy to know that a much begged-for Yojimbo for iPad companion application will now allow you to sync your data collections for on-the-go viewing without having to crack out a laptop each and every time you need to review a tidbit of information.

Sadly, at this time, the iOS application’s users will have to make due with a one-way sync between Yojimbo and their iPad, as Yojimbo for iPad doesn’t allow for the input of new information. Still, if you’re willing to sacrifice the ability to enter new data on the go in favor of using a proven desktop data wrangling solution, this could very well be the time to consider taking a peek at what Bare Bones has to offer.
