Original Apple Up For $200K

Have some spare change laying around that you were perhaps saving to pay down your house, bill, or that new yacht?  If so, perhaps you’d like a piece of history in the form of an original Apple 1 instead?

A report out of the Daily Mail is that one of the original Apple 1’s, which were sold out of Steve Jobs’ parents’ garage in 1976, is going to go up for bidding at Christie’s in London for, oh, about 150,000 euros.  After doing the math, that’s about 0,000.  But that’s not all!  This original also comes with some other nice goodies: manuals, box, and even a letter from Steve himself!

Nonetheless, the machines are really a rarity actually.  About 200 of the machines were produced, but only a select few are surviving today.  The model pictured above was a higher-end one that allowed for read-write capabilities at the time, all for an extra .

The Apple 1 also came with 8K of RAM.  By comparison, the current Mac Pro boasts 64 GB of RAM.  If you’re interested, head over to Christie’s in London on November 23rd!
