SDK

A software development kid (SDK) is a set of development tools which allows the creation of software applications (such as games or business applications).
The Apple iPhone SDK is broken down into a number of API’s (Application Programming Interface) which address a particular need, for example; there is an API for controlling the camera and an API for finding the users geo-location, both of which are mutually exclusive, but are part of the same overall SDK.
The iPhone SDK is subject to the Apple Development License agreement, which prohibits certain applications and access to restricted parts of the SDK.
